The Kiwanis Club of Fredericksburg presented a check for $1000 to Ignite, Inc. in support of operations for the Rockets '09 launch set for April 24, 25, and 26, 2009.

Bud Parrish, Kiwanis President (right), presented the check to Andrew Matthes, Ignite Board Treasurer (left), and Brett Williams, SystemsGo Director.

"Our club is happy to support this program that started off at Fredericksburg High School and has led many students into the aeroscience and engineering fields," Parrish said.

Kiwanis supports children and youth in the community. Their main fundraiser is cooking and serving sausage at Night In Old Fredericksburg and Oktoberfest. Each year they award three scholarships to Fredericksburg High School students entering the technical and health science fields.

"We appreciate community support through organizations and individuals to help make projects like this happen," said Carson Dickie, Ignite President.
